Founded by Brendan and his wife Danelle Murray, the Owl Rescue centre is dedicated to the protection and rescue of owls that are in danger, as well as the rehabilitation and care for owls that have been injured, are sick, poisoned or orphaned, and then releasing them back into their natural environment using specifically researched release methods.
Based at Hartbeespoort in the North West Province of South Africa, they take in more than a thousand owls every year through their rescue efforts. Furthermore, they are involved in the tracking and rescue and relocation of other wildlife, including baboons, monkeys, serval, reptiles and more.
The work they do can be very challenging, but Brendan, Danelle, and their tracking dog buddies handle every situation with patience, understanding and a good dose of humour.

Every R10 secures one square meter of habitat forever, so I was happy to be able to contribute R500 to this intiative. This symbolic piece of conservation land will help to secure the future of the Owl Sanctuary
